NYC Parks Electric Micromobility Pilot
As an initiative of Mayor Adams' "Charge Safe, Ride Safe: Electric Micromobility Action Plan [PDF]," NYC Parks is piloting a new rule to allow electric bikes (e-bikes) and electric scooters (e-scooters) to use park drives and greenways. The pilot program is in effect from June 20, 2023 through May 31, 2025. NYC Parks are spaces shared by everyone in our city; all park users must be respectful of others and operate their vehicles in a safe manner.
To ensure that all park users share the road safely and respectfully, we’re asking you for your thoughts on the conditions of NYC Parks’ greenways and drives. Use the map tool below to find and share any specific locations you’ve encountered with the flow of bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters, pedestrians, or other park users. We’ll use your feedback to create better experiences and help manage the flow of traffic.

Participating singers will gather at seven popular midtown locations to sing the famously uplifting “Hallelujah Chorus” from George Fredric Handel’s Messiah, surprising passersby with seemingly spontaneous outbursts of the most famous choral piece in history.
Any singer who knows their part to the chorus is welcomed and encouraged to participate simply by showing up to their preferred location by the start time, but we encourage you to register ahead of time via the Google document at this link:

Seeing the Forest in Your Street Tree
Saturday, November 9 | 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
With Nina Browne and Jibreel Cooper, Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Trees thrive when they are part of a diverse, interconnected forest community of life above and below ground. Yet trees in cities must rely on people to co-create healthy urban ecosystems. As your street trees go dormant for the winter, learn best practices to help garden more like a forest, so that next spring your community’s trees can thrive. Take home a native plant to try in your street tree bed!
